The WEEE Directive.
The introduction of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (W.E.E.E) Directive in 2006 will require all businesses to recycle old technology. Under the Hazardous Waste Regulations (2005) certain electrical items such as IT equipment have already been re-classified as 'hazardous' and must be disposed of in accordance with the new regulations.
